B CORP AWARD
B CORP — BEST FOR THE WORLD AWARD
Since being founded in 2007, Norlha has been on a mission to create positive economic and social wellbeing for all its employees, as well as the wider community in Ritoma. Today Norlha employs 130 artisans, all former nomads or members of nomad families, who have spun, woven and felted for generations.
This year we are grateful to be recognised by B Corp with the Best for the World" award in the Community category. Every year, B Lab recognizes the top-performing B Corps creating the greatest impact through their businesses. These B Corps are named Best for the World™ as their verified scores in the five impact areas evaluated on the B Impact Assessment (BIA)—community, customers, environment, governance, and workers—are amongst the global top 5% in their corresponding size group.
As an award winner in the community category, we are celebrated as one of the companies who are top performers in contributing to the economic and social well-being of the community in which we operate. Through exemplary practices and policies directed at community impact, we are recognised for building a shared and sustainable prosperity for all. Our mission-driven culture is also acknowledged for embracing supplier relations, social engagement, charitable giving, and strong, diverse communities. Amongst the companies featured in this year’s category with 50-249 employees, Norlha is proud to have the highest community score with 87.58.
We were first officially awarded B Corp certification for social sustainability with an overall score of 125.2 in 2019. Since then, we have become part of an inspiring community of business leaders whose companies meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental performance, public transparency, and legal accountability to balance profit and purpose. Along with the other 3,500 certified B corporations across 150 industries in 70 countries, we continue our journey to contribute to accelerate a global culture shift to redefine success in business and build a more inclusive and sustainable economy.
