London Craft Week

We are honoured to be joining London Craft Week as part of their International offering.

London Craft Week tells the stories behind some of the world’s most beautiful objects – the material, the maker, the process and the inspiration. It’s an opportunity to discover hidden workshops, independent makers, heritage craftsmen, jewel-like shops alongside great luxury houses, famous artists and designers, leading department stores, national museums and contemporary galleries.

In partnership with the virtual preview of London Craft Week 2020, we are auctioning our ‘Checkers’ blanket from the upcoming AW20 collection . All proceeds from this auction will go to support 26 of our female spinners who are temporarily without employment due to reduced orders from the effect of COVID-19, providing monthly stipends to each artisan.

Creating our felt blanket requires a complex process, taking three women two days to hand felt. The light and soft felt maintains a fine and even weight throughout the panels, and we believe the Norlha Atelier is the only place in the world to create Yak wool felt of this size and quality.

Offering a glimpse into the festival, now taking place in the autumn, the Virtual Preview will feature behind the scenes studio and workshop tours, exclusive masterclasses and demonstrations, product launches and online auctions. The festival will now take place from 30 September - 8 October 2020.
