NORLHA'S 17 TH ANNIVERSARY

The years have unfolded in a steady rhythm, with reality gradually fading into memories. It has now been 17 years since Norlha was founded in Ritoma village. Dorjee Tso was only 2 years old when we first set up tents and began our training; now, she is a 19-year-old tailor at Norlha.

These past 17 years have been a journey of patience and perseverance by a community built on shared responsibility and a love for yak fibre. Central to our lives are the yaks—majestic yet gentle creatures affectionately known as "Nornag," or "black jewel." From our creations to the lifestyle we inspire, we strive to embody the spirit of the yak, embracing its quiet strength and timeless beauty in everything we create and share.

Our annual circular collection is an expression of this ethos, representing our appreciation for the preciousness of yak fiber and the dedication of our artisans. Over the years, we have preserved every piece of cut-off scrap and thread, transforming these materials into limited edition creations for our anniversary. This year's vests carry the stories of many hands and creations, meticulously designed by our creative team into a cohesive work of art that honours our journey and the yak’s enduring spirit.

To mark the completion of our 17th year, we will celebrate by honouring the local spirits with offerings, followed by games and a special meal for the 104 artisans at Norlha Atelier. The highlight of the day is the blind draw, where each Norlha artisan receives a surprise gift—whether a toy, blanket, scarf, or item of clothing. With laughter and cheers people compare their prizes and trade with one another. At the end of the celebration, every employee and their children will leave with a special Norlha product.

Finally on this special day, we would like to take this opportunity to express our heartfelt gratitude to the community at large for your unwavering support of Norlha from year to year, and the years to come.
