Four Friends Children's set
A four friend illustration by the wonderful Julie Daleyden and a multi coloured knotted cord accompany a Children's Scarf. The Four Friends are a symbol of harmony. In ancient times, before the coming of Buddha, an elephant, a monkey, a hare and a grouse lived in the jungles of the kingdom Kashinagar, which is in present day Varanasi, in India. They decided that the source of happiness lay in the respect of others and behaved accordingly, spreading peace and happiness throughout the jungle.
Knots are valued for their symbolism of binding and bringing luck.
