In the fall of 2021, Norlha added three new members to our community. Tailors Dangtik, Pematso and Tsering Kyi each had a baby boy, born on August 31, September 30th and October 11th. We wish them all the best.

On the 25th of January the Norlha workshop closed for its annual winter leave, giving everyone time to prepare for the Lunar New year. On the Tibetan Plateau, nomads have their most leisurely time in the cold season, living in their winter homes, their animals grazing close by. Norlha follows the rhythm of their lives by having the one month leave coincide with the many cultural and family events that take place at that time.

The 1st of February marked the Lunar New Year, celebrated in Amdo as the most important festival of the year. It is a time when families gather, weddings take place and people go on pilgrimage, either to far away Lhasa or nearby Labrang, home of one of the largest monasteries on the Plateau.
